EXPLORING DUBLIN IRELAND

EXPLORING DUBLIN IRELAND

Once again Mr C and I have been jet-setting around the world! This time it was a little closer to home, and thankfully only a forty minute plane journey. You guys know how much I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland and The Universe delivered…

EXPLORING DUBLIN IRELAND

So back in September, I was browsing on Wowcher and found a fantastic deal for 2 nights in Dublin for only £99pp HELLO! I mean it had my name written all over it really. We booked it straight away and I couldn’t wait to come and meet you all. As soon as I told my friends the running jokes started of ‘Oh I hope you’re not going to trade Mr C in’ and even my Dad saying ‘You can’t go and find another husband!’ Thanks Dad! I firmly had one dream man that’s enough thanks Universe. No one understood that I have genuienly always wanted to go! I also wanted to meet one of my gorgeous followers, Becky who I’ve spoken to for the last year or so, even we said back last year I should go over and she’d help me find him. Well, The Universe really did have other ideas!

When we arrived I couldn’t believe how short the plane journey was, as I’ve been used to 3-4 hour flights recently this was certainly a treat! We stayed at the Sheldon Park Hotel as this was part of our Wowcher deal. It was a little dated I won’t lie but it was sufficient enough, the breakfast was great and the staff all friendly. You get what you pay for right? On our first day we relaxed, I did some book work, we then met up with Becky and her lovely little girl at the park. It was great to finally meet Becky and it felt like we’d known each other forever, we have so much in common! Later on, we went out for dinner in Dublin centre and found a great traditional Irish pub. We didn’t actually have any plans for our trip because as we both don’t drink most activities we searched included alcohol.

On day two, to my delight, we headed to Dublin centre and did some shopping! Of course, I stumbled upon Penney’s which is the Irish Primark. I couldn’t believe how cheap everything was the shirts I bought were £13 & €13 meaning after conversion I was saving money by buying them in Ireland! Now the task ahead was fitting it all in my hand luggage home. I also went in Laudree’s although I didn’t buy anything I was in macaroon heaven! Later on in the day, we decided to do the Guinness factory tour which was really fun. I learned how to pour the perfect pint and even got a certificate. I mean I am a woman of many talents! In the evening Becky suggested we all meet at Hogs and Heifers and grab some food, it was a fab place with a great vibe and the food was equally great.

On our last day, we visited Dublin Zoo, we must have been one of the only people there. I suppose it is November! It was great fun and Dublin Zoo is really worth a visit, kids would love it. They also had the festival of lights display up so this made great photo opportunities. Would I visit Ireland again? Hell yes! I don’t think I’d go sight-seeing as honestly there wasn’t much to do apart from drink alcohol. I do however feel I’ll be back whether it’s doing a book tour or events I can’t wait to come and meet you all again! I hope you all have a fantastic week, I’m currently prepping for Black Friday…
