As you will all know by now my weekly shops have always been from Tesco, even when I was living at home with my parents. I’ve recently tested Tesco’s scan as you shop system, but it’s now time to test out Tesco latest app reinvention Tesco Pay+.
The Tesco Pay+ app was formally known as PayQwiq and allows users to pay for their shopping through the use of their smartphone. I personally had never heard of this app before but was excited to see how it could help me when shopping in my local store. The app includes a great way to keep track of your shopping trips and how much money you’re spending each week. It allows you to collect Clubcard points at the same time as paying so that you don’t need to get two separate cards out at the till. Personally, for me, this is a winner as I always forget my Clubcard so now at least I’ll never miss out on points again!
The app is really easy to use, you simply set a four digit pin to access the app which means your card details and personal details are secure at all times. You can also activate Touch ID to unlock the app if you’re an Apple user like me. It’s also a great way to keep track of your Clubcard points and monitor how much you’re spending on each shop.
You can use the Tesco Pay+ app at any of the checkouts in store, simply load the QR code screen and scan it on the till. This will then automatically take payment from the card you set up on the app, and load your Clubcard points onto your account. I really found this process hassle-free and useful, I always get stressed out at the checkout so simply scanning my phone with no pin-numbers to enter or Clubcards to find made the checkout process heaven for me!
Tesco Pay+ is also useful for quick purchases for example picking up a bottle of water, or even at Tesco petrol stations in the kiosk if you’re in a rush. I didn’t think this app would benefit my shopping experience in any way but I’m pleasantly surprised at how much time it saves and it’s also a great way to keep a track of how much I’m spending and how many Clubcard points I have.
