I love baking, although I’m not that good at it they do taste rather great. When shopping in Co-op the other day I noticed this confetti cupcake mix and I couldn’t not try it with my new choco writers!
I have been itching to try these new choco writers for a while, I must warn you I am no expert and this was my first attempt but I am incredibly pleased with how they turned out! I brought this confetti cupcake mix from Co-op as I thought they would look really colourful and exciting. The cake mix was really easy to follow, they turned out to be my best cupcakes yet. Once they had come out the oven I left them to completely cool down. I made my own icing instead of the packet mix as it always looks and tastes better. The confetti inside the cupcakes look great so I highly recommend this cake mix if you are feeling lazy or can’t bake like me!
Next step was to finish off my cupcakes with a chocolate treat, I started by putting the choco writers in boiling water so they would melt. You only need to leave them in for 2-3 minutes. Once melted it was time to get creative. It took me a while to get the hang of it but I am no professional. All you need is a steady hand and a keen eye for drawing and you will be fine. I did the writing on grease-proof paper so I could easily lift them off, they took about 3-10 minutes to dry depending on the thickness and the broken bits tasted especially good. There are so many uses for these Choco pens and I really can’t wait to explore and bake some more with them. Looking on Cake Decor’s website you can purchase a pack of 6 for £7.85. It would be great to know if any of you know any shops that sell these individually. I’m really pleased with how easy they were to use and how creative I could be, so I will be using these choco writers again soon! Let me know in the comments below if you have tried these choco writers and your thoughts.
