After the recent winter solstice and now being at the halfway point of winter I thought it was about time for an updated version of my book club and to share with you all, what books I got for Christmas and what I plan to read over the next few months. Now as you may be able to tell by the cover image of this blog post there is a theme to this season’s book club. I’m feeling more drawn to learning about astrology, understanding it and learning how to read my birth chart. Astrology affects us so much even in our everyday life and I’m fascinated to learn more about it. If you missed my Autumn book club then make sure to go and have a look at that post too for new releases and the books I’ve been reading over the last few months. So without further ado, get yourself a peppermint tea (or hot drink of your choice), cosy up in a blanket and I hope you enjoy reading spiritual book club winter edition!
The Mercury Retrograde Book by Yasmin Boland £12.99
I’ve been a fan of Yasmin’s work for a few years now and after learning about Moonology from her books I was really excited to learn that she was releasing a book all about mercury retrograde. I asked for this one for Christmas and was delighted when I unwrapped this on Christmas Day. As I said I’m fascinated by the planets and astrology so I can’t wait to dive into this book and learn more about the retrograde and how it affects us. We know how it causes chaos every time it comes around so I’m excited to see how I can turn that chaos into creativity to repair, renew and revamp my life! My next book Positively Wealthy is coming out during a mercury retrograde in June this year so I need to get reading this fast to know what to expect! You can purchase Yasmin’s book here…
Your Stars by Carolyne Faulkner £12.99
Harper Collins kindly send me Carolyne’s first book ‘The Signs’ a few years ago and I really enjoyed dipping my toes in astrology and learning how to find out my moon sign, rising sign and how they all affect how we behave and what will happen in our life. So when I got this new book all wrapped up from Harper Collins again for Christmas I was super excited to see what her next book had in store. After having a flick through before the new year this is more of a journal rather than a full-blown book, it’s designed to be filled out every day over the year and tells you what astrological events are coming up that week and month and what to watch out for which I really love. The imagery throughout the book is stunning and I just can’t wait to start filling this out over the year and understand astrology and more about my signs. You can purchase Carolyne’s book here…
Muse With The Moon by Jo Cauldrick £12
Next up is a book I spotted in one of my local home stores and instantly fell in love with and once again this made it onto my Christmas list. Again this is more of a journal rather than a book which I really love. Make sure to have a look at the listing on Amazon you won’t be disappointed the illustrations throughout the book are amazing and basically made me want this book alone! If you want to learn more about the lunar cycles in a journaling format then this is the book for you! I can’t wait to start reflecting with this book and learn even more about the moon cycles over this year. You can purchase Jo’s book here…
A Monk’s Guide To Happiness by Gelong Thubten £12.99
A Monk’s Guide to Happiness is the only book this time around in spiritual book club that isn’t about astrology! I’ve been drawn to this book for a while mainly because of the cover and how great it would look on my bookshelf. Something kept drawing me back to this book and when I finally saw it reduced to £4 in The Works I knew this was my sign to buy it. Monks really fascinate me and the Buddhist way of living has always inspired me. Monk’s have a lot of wisdom to share with the world and that’s why I really can’t wait to start reading this one too. Happiness has been a reoccurring theme in my life recently so once again I feel the Universe has lead me to the perfect book! You can purchase Gelong’s book here…
The Astrology Bible by Judy Hall £14.99
Finally, in my spiritual book club this winter is Judy’s The Astrology Bible I actually found this before any of the other astrology books above and found this for a bargain price of £5 in The Works before Christmas. As I was learning to read my birth chart and learn astrology in more depth I could see from flicking through the pages how valuable this book would be. I’ve already read a big chunk of this book and my god it’s good! Not only does it teach you how to read your natal chart it also goes through each house, each planet and how that affects the sign in that planet or house. The descriptions are spot on within the book and I’ve enjoyed using this book with friends to advance our knowledge with birth charts. I can’t wait to read more of this and hopefully know about all things astrology by the times 2020’s up! You can purchase Judy’s book here…
