One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2016 is to get fit. This is probably one of the most common resolutions and possibly the most tough to stick to. So I’ve injected some fun into my workout and gym routine with some fab accessories from Hey! Holla.
Working from home can be rewarding, but it’s important to remember how fit you were before. I have always been lucky enough to have a very good metabolism so alongside working full-time and being on my feet all day it wasn’t hard to maintain a healthy weight. Since working from home my metabolism has dropped and I have subsequently put on weight over 2015. I’m still happy with the way I look, I just want to focus on being more active and eating healthier.
One of the ways I’m looking to higher my metabolism again is drink more Peppermint tea which is actually my favourite hot drink anyway. I normally have a cup with my breakfast to suppress my appetite until lunch. The best way to shed pounds is to drink a blend of peppermint tea and green tea first thing in the morning to increase your metabolism. The catechins in green tea are proven to help boost metabolism, and the two working together will make it easier to shed extra pounds. Peppermint tea can also help soothe stomach problems, help you concentrate more and relieve stress. It’s an all round winner for me!
So next comes my motivation for getting to the gym. I prefer using the gym as everyone is in the same boat and I feel I can concentrate more on doing an hour’s workout. When I’m out jogging, I easily get distracted and always feel embarrassed! I wanted to put some fun into my gym outfit and accessories and that’s where Hey! Holla comes in. They very kindly sent me some motivational accessories to help push me to the gym and they have certainly worked!
As you may all know rose gold is certainly my addiction at the moment, so I chose these fab kink-free hair ties. I have had ties like this before in beauty boxes and they are great. They don’t damage my hair, they feel secure when tied and the best bit my hair doesn’t look like it’s been tied up afterwards! They cost £8 which is the going rate for these type’s of hair ties, the colour and sparkle certainly does swing it for me though.
I normally wouldn’t think of buying a gym specific towel to chuck in my gym bag, but after trying this pink towel out I’m certainly sticking to using it. It is super absorbent which is what I’m sure we all want, it’s really lightweight which I also like and the quality feels brilliant. I would say £10 is a little expensive I would expect to pay £5-£8 for something like this elsewhere.
Lattes and Pilates Tote Bag £18
You must all know by now I love a good slogan product from t-shirts to notebooks, one thing I don’t have is a bag! I needed a new gym bag anyway so having a quirky slogan bag like this certainly gets me in the mood to show it off. It has oodles of space inside with a handy pocket for your phone/keys e.t.c. Again I would say the price is a little more than I would want to pay but the quality of the bag is something you wouldn’t get in Primark. I would say £12-£15 would be a more attractive price to pay.
So now I’m all kitted out and have my Nike’s at the ready I need to maintain this resolution and get back in shape! I know I’ll feel tons better for it once I reach my ideal size and there is no better time to start then now. Hey!
