Back in August, I wanted to make my 22nd birthday one to remember and planned a trip to London. My budget was pretty tight and had to plan days out and attractions also, so that’s why I turned to Travelodge.
If any of you watch my Youtube channel you will see I seem to end up in a Travelodge more than my own bed. I’m not complaining but hotels can be so expensive and especially in central London! So why do I turn to Travelodge? Well let’s be honest with one in pretty much every town you can be guaranteed to find one wherever you are looking. Some people prefer Premier Inn as you have the good night guarantee but personally every time I’ve stayed in one I’ve had a bad experience and not been offered a refund as stated. Now I stick to what I know and you can always guarantee good service in a Travelodge. In the end I ended up booking the Southwark Central hotel. My reasoning behind this was it’s so close to just about everything, I really hate catching the tube thanks to my anxiety, so having the option to walk to most places was great. Plus the tube was about a minute walk and also if you’re feeling cheeky a Nando’s right outside 🙂
This year is Travelodge’s 30th Anniversary and to celebrate they are offering 70,000 rooms for £30 or less between now and the end of the year, which is a great help we can all admit! Also there are often 10% off code’s available so I always make sure to keep an eye our for them 😉 Over the last 24 months, Travelodge has invested £100 million into modernising its room’s and creating a new contemporary Travelodge brand that will become Britain’s favourite hotel for value. The modernisation programme includes a new room design which has been designed by Travelodge customers and investment in a new luxurious bespoke king size bed called the Travelodge Dreamer and individual Truckle beds for the children. I can’t disagree with that, I always wake up feeling refreshed and comfortable in their new king size beds.
Next for the breakfast. Most hotels provide a breakfast, but recently staying at a Premier Inn I paid £19 for the both of us it was ridiculous.Travelodge provide a unlimited scrumptious breakfast that caters for all. When we stayed they even had a vegetarian cooked breakfast which was great. We went down really late every morning but even then there was plenty of food available and it tasted great. So worth £7.95 in my opinion!
The staff were incredible at Southwark, so much so I even ended booking another trip there a week later for Blogger Fashion Week. Joy the receptionist (I think was her name apologies if it’s not!) is a great credit to the hotel and Travelodge, making our stay the best it could possibly be and ensuring nothing was too much hassle. Joy even remembered me a week later which I thought showed just how much time she takes into getting to know the guests. I think I’ve found my favourite hotel in London now and will use it time and time again.
This was the view from our room, perfect if you love sight-seeing you can tell how close the hotel was to the main attractions. It made it so much easier!
