The glamorous Gigi Hadid has teamed up with Maybelline New York to bring you two exclusive range’s West coast and East coast. The two ranges have very different vibes, but equally are not only affordable but extremely desirable! The East coast range is mainly nude and cool colours, whereas the West coast range is more chic and warm. I managed to get my hand’s on a few of the products from each range and wanted to show you how I got on with them.
I love a good eyeshadow palette, and this Gigi miniature certainly makes this pretty range travel-friendly. I personally love warm tone eyeshadows because of my green eyes, so these warm gold tones are right up my street! These creamy eyeshadows are a dream to apply and look amazing with winter colours, I don’t think I could get away with these in the Summer, as some of the colours are very Autumnal. At £13.99 this miniature palette is certainly more expensive than other competitor’s palettes on this occasion I think your paying for the name more than quality, I do love these colours but feel Makeup Revolution palettes have much more variety for less money.
I think the strobing liquid’s had the most hype around them in the range, so I couldn’t wait to try the gold one out. A little really does go a long way, as I felt I overcompensated with my contour. I’m not sure the gold really suits my skin tone as I’m quite pale, I can imagine it would look great in the Summer once I have more colour in my cheeks. It does add an incredible shimmer so be prepared to literally dazzle people! I think I’d suit the primer more than this strobing liquid as the primer adds a subtle glow whereas the strobing liquid is more for a statement look.
I normally use L’Oreal’s Million Lashes mascara, so I was really excited to try Maybelline’s mascara. The wand made it really easy to apply onto my lashes. Although, I have naturally long lashes anyway this mascara really elongated them and added great volume. The only thing I would say is I love how black L’Oreal’s mascara leaves my lashes whereas this mascara didn’t black them out completely I felt. It’s still a great mascara and I loved the volume it gave my lashes.
Matte lipsticks are my one weakness I can’t get enough of them! From left to right the lipsticks in the photo above are Lani (Red), Taura (Brown Nude) & Mccall (Pink Nude). I’ve been trying each of the lipstick’s out this week, I love how matte these lipsticks are they apply so well and look amazing. The red (Lani) is the best red matte lipstick I’ve ever owned and really looks expensive. My second favourite is the brown nude (Taura), it’s a very 90s brown but is once again my new favourite! I adore these colours so much and they look great on, the only downside is they don’t dry so they’re not every kiss proof. I also noticed I had to reapply them after eating. I bloomin’ love these lipsticks though and the unique colours, but I’ll have to save them for a Mr C free day!
