With four major planet retrogrades happening at the moment which will continue over the coming months and Mercury going retrograde in June also, I felt like this blog post is very needed. Especially as we enter eclipse season too at the beginning of June – to summarise there is a lot going on cosmically right now as well as the uncertain times we find ourselves in with lockdown. So don’t be alarmed if you’re triggered as hell right now. So with that in mind, this week I thought I’d share with you 5 ways to navigate fear & feeling triggered.
Venus being in retrograde is what a lot of us have been feeling recently, so any fears or blocks relating to the heart or love are coming up to be released. Ex’s lovers and friends may get in contact with you and even old lessons may come up to the surface to be revisited for closure. Everyone I’ve spoken to this week and even I have been feeling the feels, whether it’s being triggered, feeling fearful, or just angry for no reason. The energy is very potent and disruptive, this however like with everything will play out differently for everyone. Basically if there’s work that needs doing you can bet it’s coming up for you right now. So here are the ways I balance and calm myself down when I’m experiencing fear or feel triggered.
Ground Yourself
Firstly in moments of pain, crisis, or feelings of it’s too much getting outside and sitting on the grass is my go-to. You can of course do a grounding meditation but I feel being out in nature connecting to the earth whether that’s your garden, a park, a beach, or even woodland connects you to your centre. There is something so healing about connecting to Mother Earth and it certainly allows you to become present and focus on your surroundings as well as process the feelings that are coming up. Breathing is also important when we feel anxious or fearful we can very often breathe short quick breaths. Make sure to take at least five deep equal breaths in and create a cycle. So breathe in for five seconds, hold for five and then release for five.
Face The Fear
Once you’re grounded and are breathing deeply into your truth, it’s time to face the fear head-on. What has triggered you and why? What feelings or past experiences is it bringing up for you? When we can face the fear head-on and witness it any surface ego response fades away and we can witness the core wound or fear that’s actually the real reason why we feel this way. I always suggest facing your worst-case scenario and your plan B. Meet yourself in the middle here, what do your guides or angels say too? You don’t have to do this alone, call upon spiritual support to guide you through this, and to show you what you need to do next.
Speaking Your Truth
Sometimes it can be hard to speak up for ourselves or voice any hurt or frustration. Your lesson here may be loving boundaries and voicing your truth whether that’s to yourself, a friend, or to the person involved. Speaking your truth can look like multiple things but it’s important that whatever you do say comes from a grounded place and not from reaction it must also feel authentic to you. Basic Law of Attraction teachings scaremonger you into always being positive and how you can’t possibly think negative thoughts or voice your true feelings because it will attract more to you. This is not true at all, if you consistently complained or thought negative thoughts then yes that’s when the Law of Attraction can kick in. Honoring where you’re at currently and voicing your truth is healing AF so Queen never be afraid to do this.
“Getting neutral means you take yourself out of a place of judgment. It’s about looking past the right or wrongs and responding from a place of neutrality and love.”
Get Neutral
Next comes a great tip that was taught to me by my good friend Hannah, getting neutral. Now this step is certainly one you have to feel into overtime as when you are in that moment of not being okay it can be extremely hard to just feel neutral. Getting neutral means you take yourself out of a place of judgment. It’s about looking past the right or wrongs and responding from a place of neutrality and love. Neutrality is witnessing where you’re at whilst not letting fear or wounds that come up knock you into a place of desperation. Rather into a space of neutrality where you open up to all possibilities best case and worst case scenario and feel at peace with both.
Move Your Body
Finally it’s so important when experiencing fear or when you feel triggered to move your body. Once you’ve done the steps above take the time move and nourish your body. When you are sat about feeling sorry for yourself that energy is going to stagnate so if you want the energy to move through you – move your body Queen! It could look like taking a walk, dancing or anything else you enjoy as long as it will bring you some relief and joy do it!

I so needed to read this today! Things seem overwhelming sometimes with the virus and all of the rioting going on here in the US. It can be hard to focus on myself, trying to find a new job with all of the chaos. Thank you for the info, I will use it to try and not let all the negativity that is surrounding me get inside.
