With intense moon energy coming in this week with the Full Moon in Leo and Mercury Retrograde on Saturday (30th January) for three weeks I’ve noticed the collective energy has certainly shifted. I myself have felt inner work come up and quite a few of you have also commented that you’ve felt triggered and sensitive this week. So I thought this was the perfect time to share with you my tips and tools on how to stop negative thoughts in their tracks and feel more compassion this week.
Witness The Thoughts
First of all, it’s important to witness the thoughts and inner critic talk as it comes up. Witnessing your thoughts without judgement can be tricky to master but when we witness the negative thoughts as simply thoughts and nothing more, we take back our power. What really helps me is seeing the inner critic/ego as my Inner Child which I’ll talk more about in the next step. So challenge yourself to take a step back and see them as simply thoughts ebbing and flowing as thoughts do. See them like the ocean rolling in and rolling out. You could even say a mantra like ‘I see you thought and I send you on your healing way I love you and release you’.
Inner Child Work
As I mentioned above what’s really helped me along my inner critic/ego journey is witnessing this negative talk coming from my Inner Child. Tune into your heart space (place a hand on your heart and breathe into that space) and focus on the triggering emotions or thoughts. Then ask your Inner Child ‘How are you feeling today?’ ‘What do you need from me right now?’ and ‘What do you want to do for fun today?’ Every time without fail now when I breathe into the emotion or thought, my Inner Child is always the source so spending time with her, comforting her, and showing her love and compassion helps these thoughts and emotions flow through me much quicker. Of course, if these thoughts are connected to trauma or deep-rooted limiting beliefs and are persisting for you it would be a good idea to look into working with someone like a coach who is specialised in this area (I’m a certified Inner work and Inner Child Work practitioner for example) to help you safely unpack these and heal them fully.

Compassion
Next up is to see yourself and your Inner Child with compassion. If your friend or a small child was coming to you with these thoughts or fears what would you tell them? Would you tell them to ‘get over it’ or would you take the time to understand and give them compassionate advice? The same goes for you Queen you deserve that self-love and compassion too. So take the time to check in with your self-love tank have you been filling your cup frequently or has it run dry? This is your first clue as to why you may be judging yourself currently. Forgiveness
Another great step in this compassion process for yourself and Inner Child is to find forgiveness. In this sense, it’s forgiveness in terms of having these thoughts in the first place. So often we judge or blame ourselves for having these thoughts when in fact we’re human we have thousands of thoughts a day! Our inner critic/ego/inner child is also human and when we just witness the thoughts and let them flow through us we detach and they have no power over us anymore. The more you attach emotions like shame, blame, or frustration to the thoughts the more they linger. So forgive yourself they’re just thoughts and all of this is a reminder to love yourself more Queen and be gentle. You deserve love and compassion too! So forgive yourself today for having the thoughts and maybe even spiraling with them – see how much lighter that feels already? Remember they are not the true essence of your soul and being and you are in control, not thoughts. Also, don’t be afraid of them manifesting into your reality I hear this time and time again, which actually makes it harder for you to let go of them because you’re now worried it will happen. Think about how many thoughts you have a day do they ALL manifest? When you felt negative about something before did it happen? Chances are it didn’t and that’s because the Law of Attraction works by vibration not thoughts alone.
Raise Your Vibration
Finally, it’s time to raise your vibration Queen! As you do the above steps you will start to feel lighter and feel your come back rate to neutrality get quicker and quicker if any negative thoughts arise in the future. It’s also important to look at your vibration and how you’re feeling as these thoughts arise. Are you feeling in alignment right now? Have you been sticking to a good solid morning routine to set you upright for the day? A simple gratitude practice can raise your vibes instantly and help with any thoughts that may arise. In the future when they do come up stop yourself mid spiral and think about 3-5 things you’re grateful for currently and see how that starts to shift your thoughts, mood, and vibration with repetition.
