So the countdown begins! Once again I found myself stuck for plans on NYE. Normally we just stay at home and have a few quiet drinks. Every year I watch the fireworks on BBC1 and dream of one day being able to watch them and join the merry celebrations In the heart of London.
With money being tight after Christmas most rooms were £300+ even our budget hotels we visit were £250+. The dream drifted further and further away! Then at 9am Boxing Day I had a email from Hotel
Tonight a last minute app. They had London NYE rooms for £99!! I rushed to open up the app clicked the first room I could see (which was the last one left) and clicked confirm. A little hasty? maybe, but I had to get to London NYE! After realising I had £15 credit from signing up the room only cost us £84. Now for Central London on NYE that is a bargain! The Town Hall Hotel is situated by Tower Bridge (Bethnal Green) only 20 mins on the tube which is great! Fab reviews, and luxury looking rooms I think I struck gold with this one! Our room is worth £330 normally. You can download the Hotel Tonight app for FREE and use code ‘ECOUPONINGANDDEALSUK’ for £15 credit for you’re first stay!
We decided to book a second night so we could go shopping another quick search on Hotel Tonight brought me too Threadneedles Hotel in the heart of Bank. This was an idle location as it’s 10 mins on a tube to most places! The room we stayed in RRP for £149 and again we got it for £99 -£15 for new customers with our code (£84). Upon arrival the staff were really helpful and they stored our many bags while we went out for the day. The only really annoying thing with both hotels is that you had to make a deposit for damage. I understand why they do this but to be without £50 for your stay can be really inconvenient if you’re on a budget. After exploring our room I decided I much prefer the Town Hall Hotel for the space, customer service & design I felt much more comfortable there. When we go again I will be 100% checking if the Town Hall Hotel is on for £99 at Hotel Tonight! For a full view of the hotels check out my Vlog Below!
So the accommodation was booked, trains booked using our National Rail discount card RRP £128 for us both we paid only £68 a nice 46.9% saving! (£30 for the year). The last part was getting to the fireworks, for years it has been FREE but last year after getting 500,000 people arrive at Westminster they have decided to makepeople purchase tickets. Shame I didn’t know about this until 12 days after they had sold out. Great… so how were we going to see the fireworks? A quick Google suggested Cannon Street but get there before 8pm others suggested the Shard (NEVER AGAIN! I gained a fear of heights, and my stomach has never been the same after that lift!). Feeling disheartened my friend suggested booking a rooftop bar. My heart sank as I imagined the prices of buying tickets! In the end we decided to stand on Lambeth Bridge which had a great FREE view!
My Top I brought back in the Summer Sales from New Look, I think it cost me £15 odd. Today, I hit the sales and found these gorgeous black and colourful spot trousers form H&M (£19.99), not the cheapest pair but I did have a £20 gift card so technically I wasn’t paying! For some reason the trousers aren’t on the website but I’ve linked the dress. I always get down in H&M as the sizes are soooo small! I am a size 10/12 normally and am a 14/16 In H&M it’s madness! My shoes are from Primark I brought these in Oxford Street a month back for £16 and I’m still in love, as they remind me of Christian Louboutin’s . So the outfit is ready, and everything is booked I honestly can’t wait! I will Vlog it all for you to watch.
Happy New Year xxx
