The awakening process normally has us questioning who we are and what we’re doing here, but very often we also find ourselves questioning this after healing wounds, beliefs, and traumas we’ve carried with us for years or even decades. So this week I wanted to share some tips and thoughts on how you can navigate this and rediscover yourself again through these journeys.
The reason why this feels most potent for me right now is that I’m starting to go through my Saturn return (27th year) and 2020 has been the year I’ve healed even more wounding I had no idea was under the surface! A Saturn return happens every 29.5 years or so and is when the planet Saturn returns to the same place in the sky that it occupied at the moment of a person’s birth. During a Saturn return you can expect big shakes up as you enter into a new phase of life and this starts in your 27th year and can last until you’re 30. Now if you’re spiritually awakened and doing the work there isn’t too much to worry about here and for me, although it’s been expansive it’s also been incredibly abundant too.
The healing always comes up when it’s ready and as I started to walk into a new phase of my life physically and astrologically clearly the healing was ready to be seen. I’m sure all of us thought 2020 would be a fun, happy outwards year yet what we’ve actually experienced is the time to really dig deep into ourselves, our circumstances and have the time to address what needs to come up. One question I found myself asking after doing some really deep IEMT work recently with my good friends Kamran Bedi and George Lizos (who are my absolute go to’s for this cognitive work) was ‘Who am I without this trauma?‘ It seemed like an odd question to ask as of course, I know who I am and what my core values are. Four nearly five years ago when I spiritually awakened this is when that discovery journey started and I wanted this blog post to help both people at the beginning of their rediscovery (awakening) and also along the journey (healing). I’ve found that I’ve met a new version of myself each and every year which is exciting and fun too. So I was in soul shock when I found myself asking this question and feeling free after 11 years of deeply ingrained beliefs releasing I had no idea where there influencing everything in the background.
I started this conversation on my Instagram and Kelly Bramblett one of my authors I mentored back in 2019 posted a great comment which I had to share as of course I’m experiencing this for the first time and I loved how she worded this. ‘You will go through this rediscovery of self over and over. At 41 I am STILL shocked at what I learn about myself in the absence of my unhealed wounding. I think in this physical life we live in a constant cycle of birth, death, and rebirth just like the Phoenix and with each rebirth, we have more to discover.’ These words really took me back and it’s such a beautiful way to describe each stage of our awakenings (because we have multiple!) and to allow this process and rediscovery of self.
“So don’t see this as a step back because oh no you’ve leaped forward, see this opportunity as a chance to know yourself even deeper than before on a whole new level and in an even more authentic and vulnerable way.”
For me although I know I’m not a completely blank canvas I do feel in a new phase of my life where I’m like okay now I get to discover adult Emma who doesn’t believe that and who is free to now step forwards and take that action. Which is fun! Now it’s just first time (fresh eyes) nerves not blocks I’m feeling and rediscovering yourself can be a fun process too. Learning what your likes and dislikes are, what your core values are, who you are a person, how you love yourself, how you can show up in the world, and what you want to achieve. There are some fun areas for you to explore Queen! So don’t see this as a step back because oh no you’ve leaped forward, see this opportunity as a chance to know yourself even deeper than before on a whole new level and in an even more authentic and vulnerable way. Hello, divine feminine work!
Use this energy to look over your past goals and manifestations do they still align with you? What is one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t got round to yet? I know I’m not the only one experiencing these feelings this year as we have all gone through a rollercoaster of emotions – endings, beginnings, grief, and abundance too. Life hasn’t been the same but we’ve also discovered a lot this year and made those changes which are massive! So celebrate the big leap you have taken towards yourself, your healing, and your dreams this year. If you are questioning who you are now, get excited, and get experimenting. One of my clients this week has made massive progress and was telling me excitingly how she was now on dating apps which was a massive step forwards for her and I couldn’t be prouder! To see her exploring herself, her self-love, dating, and inviting in that love is huge and when you show up with intention the Universe certainly delivers. Again she was doing this for herself and rediscovery not to force a relationship, but because her vibes radiated that experimenting energy and fun she had fun rediscovering herself regardless of an outcome.
So to reference back to Kelly’s comment I fully agree that we have numerous opportunities to meet different versions of ourselves in this lifetime and embracing this at each stage of the journey is vital. Whether you’re at the start of your spiritual journey or twenty years in we’re going to experience these cycles and have these questions but the reward is meeting this new up levelled version of ourselves which is truly magical to experience all we’ve come here to be. Change is the only constant in this world and ourselves are included in that. I see the transformations I’ve gone through in just five years and I’m sure in ten years I will be saying it again! So sit with this over the next week and ask yourself ‘How can I rediscover this new version of myself this week?‘ We have all gone through a deep transformation in 2020 no one person is the same and this means we all have an exciting opportunity to meet this new version of ourselves and fall in love all over again!
