Over the last few weeks, I’ve been reminded of how fear can creep in without even being detected. It was the recent new moon that triggered this for me and brought up to the surface the fear I had been letting my ego illusion me with. So this week I want to share with you my top tips on how to stop letting fear take over your life…
Illusions
‘Our perception is our projection’ are the words echoed throughout Gabrielle Bernstein’s ‘The Universe Has Your Back’. These words stuck with me because fear really is – False Evidence Appearing Real. What story have you been telling yourself about this situation? How have you let fear lead the way? When our mind’s and life’s become busy it can be easy for fear to creep in and illusion our thoughts into worries. Picking up Gabby’s book once again shifted me into becoming accountable for my fear-based thoughts, how I’d let them lead the way and reminded me to choose love. At any given moment we can choose to see any situation through the eyes of love and intend ‘I step back and let the Universe lead the way’. Fear will have us grip onto these things too tightly and illusion us with loss and worry when actually, when we can intend to see the situation differently we then invite miracles into our lives and can feel peace with what is. At any time you can ask to learn through love instead of fear, you can be shown the bigger picture and invite in the Universe’s support once again by saying ‘I am ready to learn through love’ repeat these affirmations and notice the weight that’s lifted when you choose loving thoughts once again.
Worst-Case Scenario
My next top tip is to address your worst-case scenario, often our ego’s will jump straight into doubt and fear-based thoughts surrounding outcomes – so one way to eliminate this is to ask yourself ‘what is the worst thing that could happen?’ When we address the worst case scenario we can take action and realise that actually, it’s not the end of the world. Even if you have to keep asking yourself ‘what’s the worst thing that could happen?’ after your initial answer, eventually you will get to a place where you realise that you’ll be okay regardless. Even if it’s not what you originally wanted or had hoped for. Sometimes the Universe has a plan for us far greater than we can comprehend and by releasing this control over outcomes and future tripping you can create peace and calmness within yourself.
Plan B
The next step is to address what your plan B is when we realise our worst-case scenario we can then plan for that outcome. Many would argue and say this is bad law of attraction and is this tip not just going to say to the Universe ‘yes please Universe I’d like the plan b now’. Absolutely not, surprisingly it does the opposite! When we can face our worst fear with calmness and make a plan b we surrender and learn to become okay with both outcomes. One of the key steps in the law of attraction which many actually miss out and is also the most important – is letting go. The universe wants you to be surrendered, not controlling and the only way to fully release is to become okay with your plan b and know if that was to happen it would be for the highest good of all. Thinking about your plan b does not mean you’ll attract it to you, the Universe knows what you’d like to happen and when we’re clinging on to a certain outcome this is where fearful thoughts can set in.
5×5 Rule
The 5×5 rule is a great way to put any situation into perspective, so today ask yourself ‘will this even matter to me in five years time?’ A lot can change in five years and although right now it may feel like a big impact on your life honestly ask yourself will you even be thinking about this situation in five years time? You could also do some journaling on this to ask yourself ‘what wound is this fear/outcome triggering?’ and ‘how can I give myself some more self-love today?’
Grounding
My final tip is to really get grounded, how often do you ground yourself into the present moment? I actually have a re-focusing and grounding guided meditation free when you sign up to my newsletter, so you could listen to this as often as you need to. Make sure you’re often connecting to nature, go outdoors, walk and connect with Mother Earth. Sometimes even just moving our bodies, walking and being in the fresh air can really help our fearful minds and can give our mind a break from worrying. Often fear and worry stem from future tripping and worrying about what ‘could’ happen, this is why grounding is such an important step in eliminating fear because when we’re truly present we don’t need to know what’s going to happen. We can be present, enjoy today and know what will be will always be regardless, you can take back your power over this situation. Get grateful for today and all the wonderful things that are happening right now for you, another suggestion would be to get a piece of smokey quartz and carry this around with you – it’s a great grounding and protective stone.
