HOW TO FEEL LIGHTER & CREATE SHIFT - Emma Mumford

With things in the world around us feeling so heavy right now, there is definitely a heavy collective vibe. Which we will be picking up on and feeling within ourselves. So this week I wanted to create a blog post that can help you to feel energetically lighter and create shift in your life if you’ve been feeling low, heavy in energy, or anxious in general.

There is no denying it, 2021 has certainly been a vibe already but let’s not write it off just yet. This is why I was cringing at ‘Best Year Yet’ posts online and focused on the energy of ‘Reset’ within my own work and what I share with you all. The world is in uncharted waters right now and we’re feeling this more now than ever. Whilst there is light and hope up ahead we are certainly feeling the collective energy right now with so many historical events happening across the world and a pandemic too! First of all, take time to recognise how well you are doing during all of this. It’s been a lot for every single human being and life has changed so much for us all. This lockdown especially here in the UK has been the hardest, I’m hearing more and more people struggling and even I myself am feeling the heaviness of it all. Maybe this is down to it being winter, maybe the season is having an impact on our moods, maybe it’s as we approach a year globally of lockdowns the reality is hitting, or maybe it’s the media and global political events that are taking place right now. Either way, it’s a heck of a lot for all of us to process and it’s important to remind ourselves that we are all doing the best we can right now. So with this here are a few of my tools and techniques to help you feel lighter and shifted this week.

Are You Taking Things Personally?

I will absolutely hold my hands on this one! Looking at your own circumstances here, we are all guilty of taking things personally sometimes when really another person’s actions are all to do with them and actually nothing to do with you. Yet, somehow we still take things personally and again it’s okay to witness if you’ve done this. Releasing this is pretty simple all you need to do is witness you’ve done this, remember that our actions are our own responsibility and others are their own and finally, forgive yourself and others. Let it go, whatever it is – is it taking over your time and emotions? If so, your peace is paramount, and if it disrupts that peace it’s too expensive. When we ground and center back into our truth and the knowledge that other people’s actions and words are their own and not a reflection of us – we relieve ourselves of this weight we’ve been carrying.

Drop What’s Not Yours

Again, another letting go exercise – drop what is not yours Queen! So often we carry around collective energy, burdens and worries which aren’t even our own. Take accountability for your side of the street and make sure you’re looking after yourself and your mental health. If anything else isn’t yours then drop it! You can still care and help someone without taking on their mountains and heaviness. Although most of this is a conscious choice to drop these things, you could also do an energy protection meditation daily to clear collective energy and make sure the energy you’re experiencing is your own. With everything going on in the world right now, it’s so easy to sweat the small stuff and the big stuff. So energetically drop what is not yours and create the space, you don’t need to carry this and this will absolutely be contributing to your vibe, happiness, and the feeling of heaviness.

Choose To Be Present

Next up it’s time to get truly present! We are not in the driving seat here the Universe is, and it’s so easy to once again future trip in these current circumstances. Right now is all we have, and all we ever have so the more you can connect to you breath, ground yourself, and get intentional with all you do. You’ll relieve yourself of any anxiety that comes with future tripping and again allow yourself to let go of anything that’s no longer serving you or that is weighing you down. Being present is a continuous practice to lean into but the most rewarding, as the present moment is where we can shift our vibes and how we feel.

Focus On What Is In Your Control

There is so much that isn’t in our control right now, including the Universe’s timing. So much has been postponed globally and on a personal level for nearly a year now. I have friends who are rearranging their weddings for the second time which is heartbreaking to see and really there are no words of comfort that can make them feel better. No matter what the delay is trust in the timing of your life. I often remind friends and clients that if your desire was to turn up right here and now would you truly be ready for it and would it be sustainable? The answer is always no, the reason why the answer is no is that when we really get truthful with ourselves we can witness that if we were, the desire would be here. The Universe is all energy remember so it responds to our vibration, if we were truly ready to receive – it would be here. Right now we’re all being challenged to surrender, adapt, flow, and trust that there is a greater reason why we’re being called to pause right now. And one day you’ll look back and thank this pause for teaching you some amazing things that helped you manifest your desire at the perfect time. So focus on what is in your control not what isn’t. It’s such a waste of energy and causes more stress than it is helpful. By taking control of your energy, your mood, your vibes, your wellbeing, your healing etc you positively impact your outer experience. So always look within when things feel out of control and nurture yourself.
