It’s that time of year again folks where Mercury goes retrograde again and everyone starts to freak out! Once again Mercury retrograde is nothing to be feared and can actually be a really nurturing positive time for you despite any delays that may or may not happen. So this week I felt called to share with you the importance of rest over the next few weeks during Mercury retrograde.

Mercury went retrograde on the 13th of October 2020 in Scorpio and will go direct again on the 3rd of November, the incredible Danielle Paige came into my Manifestation Membership this week to do a workshop with the Queen’s all on astrology and the energy of 2020. Danielle was explaining that this Mercury retrograde will see secrets coming up to the surface and is a big one for rest. I’ve been noticing myself I’ve felt more tired than usual and friends and clients have been saying this too as the shadow of Mercury retrograde crept in. Regardless of MR, 2020 has been a full-on year full of uncertainty, stress, loss, and a lot of positive’s too but if you’re like me and you’ve worked flat out rest and self-care is still a must even during a pandemic and lockdown.

It’s easy for us to keep ourselves busy and distract ourselves away from what’s going on in the world right now but Mercury retrograde will be the one to show us how important that rest is over the next three weeks. So first of all, honour your body, and honour what it needs. When we listen to our bodies they always tell us what it is we need, and when things seem to be going ‘wrong’ during Mercury Retrograde instead of seeing it as a hindrance see it as the Universe’s way to slow you down and shine focus upon what need’s your attention over the next few weeks. Mercury is the ruler of communication, travel, and technology so very often during the three-week retrograde which happens a couple of times a year you can expect to be stopped right in your tracks and the light to be shone on an area of your life you’ve been neglecting. Which I feel for many will be resting and self-care.

Use these three weeks as a time to think your decisions, contracts, etc through. I always find by the end of Mercury Retrograde that I have a new sense of awareness or perspective and can move forwards with ease and from a more aligned place than at the beginning of the retrograde. So challenge yourself to listen to your body more, your intuition, and nourish yourself with rest and self-care. Have you been filling your own cup recently? What could you do on a weekly basis for self-love and self-care to enable you to rest and take back your power as we head into those inner winter months? This is the perfect time to give yourself that rest and love you truly deserve Queen and turn your energy to maybe something you haven’t had time to address or have been putting off.

The energy right now is encouraging us to rest and retreat so think about this – what can you do to nourish yourself and fill your own cup this week? What is something loving you can do for yourself which you haven’t done in a while? Maybe it’s a walk-in your favourite nature spot, maybe it’s reading in bed and resting, or even treating yourself to something as an act of self-love. Trust what comes to you and take action this week to honour your body and soul. You’ll find as we exit Mercury Retrograde on the 3rd of November that the energy will start to realign and feel more outwards again where you have more energy to take action and move forwards with confidence and ease. Like with anything how the energy will affect you personally will be different as we all feel and experience different things based upon what needs to come up for us. So this why I always say don’t fear Mercury Retrograde you don’t need to, see it as an opportunity to dive deeper and feel clearer moving forwards.
